Makena Cove Beach (Maui's Secret Beach)
This tiny cove is also nicknamed "Secret Beach." It is nestled between two residential areas away from the crowds and a little difficult to find because you cannot see it from the road. Makena Cove has lava rocks and palm trees for picture backgrounds and as a wedding location it works for small beach weddings with up to 10 guests. This beach has no restrooms and there is limited parking space available alongside the road.
This hidden gem of a beach is located next to Polo Beach and flies under the tourist radar. Along with the stunning blue waters and white sands, this beach has beautiful flowers in the background. Sometimes it is also called 'White Rock Beach'.
Po'olenalena Beach has beautiful golden sand, some lava rocks and palm trees for your wedding picture backgrounds. This flat beach allows for lovely footprints-in-the-sand pictures. It is a long beach with plenty of space to find a secluded spot for your ceremony. This beach is very accessible with plenty of parking and very well-suited for larger wedding parties.
Makena Big Beach
This is one of the largest beaches in Maui and has a remarkable lava rock cliff at one end which makes for some amazing picture backdrops. It is a long and open beach, which also has some cozy spots that are perfect for a romantic ceremony. Makena Big Beach has plenty of parking space available and works well for larger wedding parties. (Notes: Makena Big Beach requires a special permit to be applied for 90 days in advance, so this is no beach for last-minute elopements!)
Polo Beach is a destination beach and is located next to the famous Fairmont and Four Seasons hotels. It’s a great option if you plan to have a fancy cocktail hour or reception dinner at either hotel.
